Equivalence
My Equivalence set is comprised of nine images, created as part of my university work, they are based upon the ideas of Equivalence by Alfred Steiglitz and depict the emotions involved in the move my family made from England to Wales, then shortly after, my parents Divorce.
I have combied the images with prose, written by myself which strengthens meaning and helps to express the emotion involved in the creation of these images.
"Equivalence is a function, an experience, not a thing. Any photograph, regardless of source, might function as an Equivalent to someone, sometime, someplace. If the individual viewer realizes that for him what he sees in a picture corresponds to something within himself—that is, the photograph mirrors something in himself—then his experience is some degree of Equivalence."

"We sacrificed everything we had ever known on your promises of happiness, It's ironic to think that you were the only one who couldn't let go."
